This Egypt 5 Pound Silver Coin was issued by the Arab Republic of Egypt in 1991 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Giza Zoo which is the first zoo to be built in the Middle East. Its obverse features the entrance of the zoo. It also has inscriptions that include the state name, the denomination, and the dates. The reverse of the coin features a giraffe, a Nile crocodile, a shoebill, an African lion, and an African bush elephant. The coin is made of .720 silver and weighs 17.5 grams.
