    Description

    Weber Duo-Art Upright Reproducing Player Piano Style 59-P Mahogany Serial #76494.  This is a deserving piano for use as is or restoration.  I have four grand pianos, and I really like the sound of this one for ragtime and other popular music, partly because of the acoustics of the room.  The piano, although 100 years old has had little use and both the ivory keyboard and the hammers are in great condition.  Unfortunately, someone has "antiqued" the finish, covering the original mahogany.  It doesn't look bad, but I would be tempted to strip it down to the mahogany, which must be be a beautiful grain, as this was made to be  a luxury piano in  its day.  It has not been tuned in six years, and it is holding its tuning very well.  Some of the bass strings could be twisted or replaced to improve their sound. The Duo-Art does not work, and has been removed to make it lighter to carry, but it is complete and ready for rebuilding.  In photo #1 you can see part of it leaning in the corner on right.   It's on the first floor.  Hope someone can give it a home, as I have to move.  It's ready to play as it is.  I can take more photos if needed.
